Surya, Samantha Akkineni win big at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM); Here's complete list

New Delhi, August 21: Most anticipated Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) was virtually held on Friday noon due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. This year’s festival boasted an impressive line-up of feature and short films from across the cinemas of India. During the festival, Jury announced the winners of its 12 edition IFFM.

The list of winners included several recipients from the south Indian film industry. As per the announcement, Surya Singham actor Suriya won the Best Performance Male (Feature) for Soorarai Pottru. Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru was also declared the Best Feature Film.
 

Moreover, Samantha Akkineni. who made her Over-the-Top (OTT) debut with Amazon Prime Video’s hit web series The Family Man 2 won the Best Performance Female (Series).
 
 

Apart from them, Vidya Balan won the Best Actress for Sherni, and Mirzapur was given the Best Series Award. Anurag Basu picks up the Best Director trophy for his film Ludo.
 
 

IFFM also honored Pankaj Tripathi with the Prestigious Diversity in Cinema Award presented by LaTrobe University. Tripathi was honored by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The ace actor credited Kashyap for giving him the big chance in his Gangs of Wasseypur.
